• 17th & 24th July 2009- Auditions conducted for the interested students of the College for on-screen programmes of Polimer TV Channel
• 27th July 2009 – Auditions for Ms. Fresher by Radio Mirchi
• 1st Aug: 2009 – Students attended Multimedia Seminar conducted by FrameBox on Visual Effects.
• 2nd Aug: 2009 – RCCP projects were screened in Russian Academy for Culture and was judged by the eminent Director Ms.Priya . She had been the Associate for Director Maniratnam for several movies.
• 6th  & 7th Aug: 2009 – Freshers Day – Our students won the auditions in the following categories, First place in Group singing , Second place in Group Dance, Third Place in No Gas Cooking, First and Third Place in ShipWreck, Second & Third place in Pencil Sketch.
• 13th Aug: 2009 Mr. Kamalesh , an eminent TV Artiste interacted with the students and highlighted  On screen performance and nuances of TV acting.
• 31st Aug: :2009 The First yr and Second yr students had a chance to interact with Director Radha Mohan and Editor Suraaj Kavee in the Medios seminar conducted at The Ethiraj College for Women
• 1st Sep: 2009 : Radio One Auditions
• 9th September 2009 –Retd.  Prof. & Head, Ponnusammy, Film Institute gave a guest lecture on Aesthetics in Cinema for the first & third year students.
• 29th September 2009 – Pidilite Workshop on Glass, Pot, Fabric Painting, Paperbags making were conducted by Mrs. Meera Rao, for the first and Second year students.
• 29th, 30th  September and 1st October 2009 – Workshop on Avid Editing for Vis Com Staff by the Real Image Domain Expert Mr. Mohammed Khan.

STAFF ACHIEVEMENT

1. Mr. Ramanidaran:
   

   Workshop on Wildlife Photography –visited Bandipur Wildlife Sanctuary and the programme was conducted by Mr. T.N.A. Perumal, a famous Wildlife Photographer on 9, 10, 11th June 2009

   Workshop on Advertising Photography, conducted by Mr. Shashikant, one of the leading Photographers in the country on 19th July 2009.

2. Mrs. Tamilselvi and Ms. Monisha:
   

   Have attended the International Conference on ‘Development Communication in the era of Globalisation’ held at Loyola College on 9th, 10th, 11th July 2009.

3. Ms. C.Harini & Mr. Kamalanathan:
   

   Have been attending courses on Nonlinear Editing and Film editing conducted by Dr. TNS Digital Film Institute.
   Ms. Harini has obtained a Diploma in Photography.

4. Ms. MalathyPriya
   Has been invited by the SAE Institute to give Guest lectures on Avid Editing.

The staff seminar was organized for the staff of the Department of Computer Science and Application. 11 members of the staff participated in the seminar and Mrs. Nithya was judged as the Best Presenter.

On 8th August, 2009, 177 Rotaractors and staff inicharge, Ms. Ajeetha participated in ‘STREE SURAKSHA-09’ Rally against DOMESTIC VIOLENCE at the Gandhi Statue, Marina.

On 13th August, a guest lecture on the topic ‘CHANGE IS POSSIBLE’, was given by Dr.A.RAJA, M.A., Ph. D., PGT in St.Vincent’s Matriculation Hr. Sec. School.

• A Blood Donation Camp was held at a grand scale on 12th August, 2009 by the college in association with the NSS, Rotaract Club, Leo Club and theh other clubs in the college. The camp saw more than 200 enthusiastic students and staff donating blood for a good cause.



• The Librarians’ Day was celebrated on 12th August, 2009.

On 25TH July, 2009, “SARGAM”, a musical fest held which was conducted jointly by Rotaract Clubs of Hindu college and East coast at Vani Mahal,T.nagar.  
15 Rotaractors actively attended the function.
                  
• Scientific Research Association for Economics and Finance conducted a seminar on “Inventions and Innovations” on July 4, 2009 at R.K,M Vivekananda College, Mylapore, Chennai. Archana Chandrasekar, Archita Chandrasekar, S.Priyanka, V.Pankajavalli, N.Sangeetha, and V.Nagalakshmi of Accounts & Finance Department participated in the seminar.

• The Hindi Department staff seminar was conducted on 4th July, 2009. Dr. Sarita, Hindi Prachar Sabha was the Chief Guest and Mrs. Padmavathi Sambamurthy was the Prize Winner. She talked about Shabda Vichar.

• Karuna Club organized a lecture on Being Vegetarian. The Chief Guests were Mr. Sripal Jain and Kum. Shraddha Jain. All the Hindi students were present.

                                             EVENING COLLEGE

The Evening college Student’s seminar was held on 13th September. The seminar was hosted by the Department of Economics, Mathematics and Statistics.

The Main topic for Economics seminar was “FEATURES AND PROBLEMS RELATED TO INDIAN ECONOMY”   and the chief guest (Judge) was Mr.P.Arulmurugan, M.A., M.Phil.,(Eco) Publisher, Nalanda Publication.

The Main topic given to the students for Mathematics seminar was “APPLICATION OF MATHEMATICS” .The chief guest was Ms.Rabiya Basri, Msc., M.phil., (Mathematics), Lecturer, Dept of Maths, AMS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING.

The main topic given to the Department of Statistics was “Application of Statistics”. The chief guest was MS. Revathy, M. Sc., M.Phil., (mathematics), Lecturer, Dept of Math’s, AMS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING.

TAMIL SEMINAR

The Tamil Seminar was conducted on 29-08-2009 in the college premises. The time scheduled was 12:00pm- 2:30pm. The following were the topics on which the students enthusiastically amidst some reputed judges. They are:

• The English Seminar was held on 8th of August, 2009 at our college premises in six rooms nearly 275 students attended the seminar. The topic of the seminar was “Writers of Different Ages”.
  
• The seminar was judged by Mrs. K. Poornima Varalakshmi, (Lecturer, Prince Sri Venkateshwara Engineering College, Chengalpet), Mrs. R. Geetha, (Co-ordinator in SRDF Vivekanandha Vidhyalaya Hr Sec School), Ms. M.P.
